Essien named the most influential Ghanaian footballer

Michael Essien has been named the most influential Ghanaian footballer in the 2015 Ghana Social Media Rankings.

The Panathinaikos midfielder was voted ahead of Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan, Kwadwo Asamoah, and Kevin-Prince Boateng, according to Ghana Social Media Rankings.

The rankings conducted by the Ghana Social Media rankings took Facebook, Instagram and Twitter as parameters for consideration.

Essien has been active and brilliant using social media to socialize with his fans and in support of various humanitarian campaigns for Africa and in other parts of the world.
