Rio Haryanto is optimistic that this weekend's German Grand Prix will not prove to be his final race in Formula One.

The future of Haryanto has been heavily scrutinised after he reportedly ran out of sponsorship money following the last race in Hungary.

The 23-year-old will drive for Manor in Hockenheim but then faces a race against time to secure funding during the mid-season break, with the Belgian Grand Prix not taking place until August 28.

McLaren reserve driver Stoffel Vandoorne has been one of the men linked with taking the Indonesian's seat for the remainder of the season, but Haryanto is hopeful of securing his future.

Speaking at the drivers' media conference, Haryanto said: "It was a little bit uncomfortable [since Hungary] but I am very pleased to be back here at the Hockenheimring and everything is fine now to go racing.

"I am very confident because the contract has always been a one-year contract. I am confident over the summer break we have three weeks when there will be potential more sponsors coming.

"There are also races closer to my home country and there will be interest for potential sponsors. Of course I would like to have a break as well but it is going to be a little bit busy.

"My management is working very hard and I believe in them a lot, they bring the best that they can, also the team has been very supportive of me, and the fans. They are trying their best to keep me in Formula One."

Haryanto has thanked supporters for their backing during the difficult time and attempted to focus on what happens on the track.

He added: "Everyone has been incredible and my sincere thanks for that. The team have been very supportive and also the fans, so I'm really happy that I will be racing here.

"I intend to put all the speculation regarding my future to one side and concentrate on the racing here in Hockenheim.

"We are working as hard as possible on the future behind the scenes, but that is where I want to keep that side of things for this weekend."
