Less than 24 hours after suffering a hairline fracture in her left knee, Lindsey Vonn revealed she was going to "go up on the hill" to test it out after having it drained.

The American leads the FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup overall standings by eight points after sustaining the fracture in a crash in Saturday's super-G in Soldeu-El Tarter, Andorra.

Vonn, who has already won the downhill globe and heads the super-G rankings, is to undergo more tests on Monday but did not rule herself out of Sunday's Alpine combined event.

And the 31-year-old should soon know if she is fit to compete in the combined after confirming she was to return to the slopes in an Instagram post on Sunday.

"Drained my knee a few times and it's feeling a little better. Going to go up on the hill and see how it feels. Wish me luck!!" Vonn posted.
