English boxer wins bout against Chris Algieri, calls for Mayweather challenge

Amir Khan who seems to be Floyd Mayweather's next opponent, won his bout against Chris Algieri with an unanimous decision

Amir Khan last night defeated American boxer, Chris Algieri with the unanimous decision 117-111, 117-111 and 115-113.

The fight held at Algieri's hometown and even though it didn't have the hype of the Floyd Mayweather and Pacquiao fight, it was still an interesting match as Khan was made to work hard for his victory.

The early rounds at the Barcklays Centre, New York were split between Algieri's bigger-looking punches and Khan's speedy combinations and the American caught the English boxer with some punches.

Khan however got better with time and was announced winner after the last round.

British boxer, Khan has been reported to be Mayweather's next opponent with the undefeated champ even undefined

"We all want to fight Floyd Mayweather. But when you wait so long for something it can set you back. I did not want to look past Algieri or any other fighter," Khan said after the fight.
