Gina Carano as Cara Dune The former MMA star has made a name for herself in the last few years transitioning to an acting career, showing up in Fast & Furious 6 and Deadpool, among others. Now, shes playing Cara Dune, a former Rebel Trooper who at some point, it seems, aligns herself with Pascals Mandalorian. She spoke very discreetly about a major surprise being her favorite part of the show, so hopefully well see what that is as soon as the show gets up and running. Disney
Nick Nolte as Kuiil Nick Nolte! Everyone knows this three-time Academy Award nominee from movies like 48 HRs and Tropic Thunder, but now hes stepping into the Star Wars world for the first time. Hes playing a little alien guy named Kuiil (who looks, in this clip , like its not CGI, but Nolte under a whole lot of make-up(!)). Ive never met a Mandalorian, his signature gravelly voice mutters in one of the trailers. Ive only heard the stories. Now, hell get to be a part of one of those stories. Disney
Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon Giancarlo Esposito is already in the TV villain hall of fame for his iconic turn as Gus Fring in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, and it sure seems like hes returning to that well for The Mandalorian. His character is a former Empire officer, but since the Empire has fallen (this story takes place between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens), hes still got some motivation...what, though, remains to be seen. Maybe he could be a part of how The First Order began? Well see. Disney
Carl Weathers as Greef Carga From Predator and Action Jackson to Happy Gilmore and Arrested Development, Carl Weathers is truly the man of a million roles, so whats one more in the Star Wars world? As Greef Carga, Weathers is playing the leader of a Bounty Hunting group who hires Pascals Mandalorian to work a job, presumably the one that gets the shows adventure rolling. Disney
Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand Ming-Na Wen has some great experience with Disneyshe provided the voice of the titular character in classic 90s animated film Mulanand now is playing one of the most intriguing roles in the companys flagship launch for their new streaming service. As Fennec Shand, shell be a dangerous assassain, one inspired by a Fennec Fox, she told Vanity Fair . Shes tricky, and yet shes able to maneuver and survive, and be stealthyso very graceful and agile, she said. I just love that whole image with the name. Speaking of a name, she mutters the final line in the latest trailer: Your name will be legendary. Somewhat ironic, considering we dont know The Mandalorians actual name. Maybe that means its one that we do know? Disney
Taika Waititi as IG-11 Fresh off the heels of his Anti-Hate Satire Jojo Rabbit, actor/writer/director Taika Waititi is going to also head into double duty on The Mandalorian, voicing the IG-11 droid and directing the series eighth episode/season finale. Waititi has some great experience in voicing a character in something hes also directinghe did just that with the hysterical Korg in Thor: Ragnarok. Disney
Bill Burr as "Unnamed Outlaw" Yes, Bill Burr is a comedian, and one who doesnt particularly care for nerd culture. But a run-in with showrunner Jon Favreau has landed him here, and he seems like hes actually having a blast in the show as an outlaw. We havent gotten a great look at him just yet, but keep in mind that Giancarlo Esposito isnt the only Breaking Bad alum here either; Burr played one of Saul Goodmans fixers in a number of Breaking Bad episodes, and was actually pretty intimidating. Disney
Werner Herzog as The Client Werner Herzog, who says hes never seen a Star Wars movie, is not primarily known for his acting. Sure, he played a creepy home owner in a very memorable Parks and Recreation appearance, but hes primarily known for the movies hes directed, like the heart-gutting documentary Grizzly Man and the unmistakable Aguirre: The Wrath of God. Here, Herzog is playing some sort of gangster called 'The Client. Bounty hunting is a complicated profession, he says in one of The Mandalorians first trailers ; well see just how complicated when the show kicks off next week. Disney
