Contrary to popular belief,
Many of us frown at the thought of having a bae that's miles away from us and cannot even fathom having to wait for weeks or even months to hug them or have some alone time. Sure, long distance relationships do have their fair share of disadvantages but, more often than not, we overlook the advantages which are:
1. First of all, if your long distance relationship survives, chances are, there's nothing else that can break the two of you.

2. You learn to communicate better and resolve conflicts.
Communication is everything when you're in a long distance relationship. You long for that Skype or Whatsapp video chat or even that good morning and good night message. Communication becomes meaningful and purposeful.
3. You learn to be independent.
Not just financially, but you also learn to be okay on your own and depend on yourself. That way, when bae comes back, your happiness is not really dependent on him and that way, he's only adding value and complementing your already okay life.
4. You have freedom.
Unlike in a normal relationship where you spend a lot of time together, a long distance relationship allows you to still do some of the things you love such as focusing on your goals, passions and career such as having a part time job or taking a class on something you have always wanted to learn.
5. You always have something to look forward to.
They say, for a person to be truly happy, you only need three things, someone to love, something to do and something to look forward to. A long distance relationship comes towed with these three. You can't help but long for the day you will see bae again and that anticipation is what keeps you both going.
6. You learn how to be patient.
If you can wait for a man for 6 months, surely, you can wait for your web browser to load right?
7. Your trust is tested.
Can you both wait for each other and trust that the other person is not doing things behind your back? If so, then this helps makes your trust stronger.
8. You get to travel.
That's a major plus. Of course, you get to plan many travel plans to meet each other and it's all bliss when you meet again and do things you both love together.
9. Your relationship is more than physical.
While sex is constant in a normal relationship. In a long distance relationship, you're sure that the person is not really lusting over you but actually loves you. There's a lot more to a relationship than just sex. A long distance relationship allows you to rediscover each other and learn so much more about your partner.
10. Your dates become special.
When you meet, you appreciate every single minute spent together. You basically want to shut down the phones and give each other all the attention to make up for all the times you have missed each other.
