If you watch tons of Dr. Pimple Popper videos, one question in particularly probably gnaws at you the most: How exactly do lipomas (or cysts, or blackheads) grow?

Dr. Pimple Popper attempts to answer that question for her followers in her newest Instagram video, posted Wednesday afternoon. In the video, dermatologist Sandra Lee, MD pops a lipoma on a girl's shoulder-and, as all lipomas typically are, this one's a doozy.

The video's caption reads: "How do lipomas grow? Ill tell ya! Check out A GIRL POWER LIPOMA POP on #youtube to see the FULL VIDEO! #girlpower #drpimplepopper." Clearly, this one has more to offer than a short Instagram clip has room for.

The video starts out with Dr. Pimple Popper's patient revealing that she only noticed the lipoma (which is essentially a large, fatty, benign tumor) a year ago, but Dr. Pimple Popper says it's probably been there longer.

"It's like your own little shoulder pad," she said. And also like shoulder pads in jackets, it should be swiftly removed.

The Instagram clip delivers solid squeezing action, but it cuts out short of the full lipoma extraction. For that you have to tune into Dr. Pimple Popper's Youtube video.

"I'm going to give it a little squeeze here," the doctor says. That's all it takes for the yellow goo to start poking out. You can't miss it, it's bright yellow-almost the color of macaroni and cheese. This lipoma is so large, that the doctor uses one hand to continue squeezing and the other hand to hold onto the emerging bunch of yellow goo. "A lot of times they are well-contained and I can get it out in its entirety and that is good," she says.

But it gets really interesting the patient asks what causes lipomas-and Dr. Pimple Popper is ready with an answer: "It's as if one benign fat cell, called an adipose cell, just decides to clone itself, or divide upon itself," Dr. Pimple Popper says. "It's a clonal population of benign fat cells. They just decide to grow and sometimes they just keep growing on people." Fascinating, right?

This lipoma in particular though seems to be pretty stubborn: "Sometimes it will just wiggle out... If it does wiggle out it's kind of nice," she says. Since that's not the case with this one, Dr. Pimple Popper has to employ her scissors to get the rest of the lipoma out.

After quite a bit more digging and squeezing, Dr. Pimple Popper finally removes the entire lipoma, then goes on to clean up the patient, stitch her shoulder back up, and send her on her way.

There you have it: A lipoma lesson and a juicy pop all wrapped into one.
