African track queen to compete in 400m

Okagbare has never taken part in the 400m race, but she aims at winning the top prize when the 2015 IAAF World Athletics Championships begins

Nigeria and African 100m champion, Blessing Okagbare discloses that she just might take part in the quarter mile 400m race at the 2015 IAAF World Athletics Championships holding this August in Beijing, China.

She reveals this in a chat with the media.

‘I might decide to add a fourth event to the three am already doing and that will be the 400m. I haven't ventured into it since I was a little girl running barefoot, but I fancy giving it a try again if the timing of the schedule allows me.'

'A triple, a double, whatever I need to do. It is a World Championship so the aim is a gold medal.'
