The White House disclosed this via a statement released on Thursday, June 25, 2015.

"The visit will underscore the United States' ... commitment to strengthening and expanding our partnership with Nigeria’s new government," the White House said in a statement.

Obama and Buhari both attended the G7 summit earlier this month but it’s not clear if the men had a one-on-one discussion.

Meanwhile, the US has said that it will donate the sum of $5 million to aid the fight against Boko Haram.
