However, there wasn’t much he could do as his side slumped to a 4-1 defeat on Monday evening in the Turkish Super Lig.
Gyan had previously scored three goals during pre-season, but failed to find the net on his competitive debut.
The Black Stars captain was handed a start and played 71 minutes, before being substituted. Kayerispor conceded an early goal after French striker Bafetimbi Gomis sneaked behind their defense to slot home.

Gomis doubled his tally, with Tolga Cigerci and Younes Belhanda further adding to the score line, as Levent Guelen could only score what proved to be a consolation for the away side.
Gyan would hope to be in better form when Kayserispor play their next game, with the Ghana captain eager to prove a point following his move from Asia back to Europe.
