Ghana’s president, Nana Akufo-Addo has named 22 persons to represent Ghana as ambassadors in other countries.
The list is spearheaded by 2016 presidential candidate of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Dr. Edward Mahama, together with Rasheed Seidu Inusah, who has been named as ambassador-at-large.

An announcement made by the Presidency on Monday, July 10, indicated that 22 persons overall have been given ambassadorial appointments by the president.
However, it is the ambassador-at-large position that has piqued the interest of many Ghanaians.
An ambassador at large is a diplomat of the highest order, and has a role slightly different from what a normal ambassador does. Unlike for an ambassador-in-residence, their duties will not be limited to just a particular country,.
Dr. Mahama and Mr. Inusah, as part of their duties as ambassadors-at-large, are expected to represent Ghana at several neighbouring countries during conferences and meetings.
