Wisa's lawyer ditches him in court

Lawyer for embattled Hip Life artiste Wisa, Jerry Agbenovor today failed to represent his client in court. According to sources, Mr. Agbenovor declined to come to court due to unpaid fees owed him by the artist and the failure of Wisa to attend a prep session before today's hearing.Wisa is facing a charge of gross indecent exposure at the law courts after he exposed his penis to a live audience at  a concert last year.

WHO must help us fight Pneumococcal Meningitis - Parliament

Parliament’s Health Committee is proposing that the Health Ministry must seek assistance from the World Health Organization (WHO) in tackling the outbreak of the deadly Pneumococcal Meningitis in Ghana. The chairman of the committee, Joseph Yieleh Chireh said urgent steps need to be taken to contain the disease in order to prevent fear and panic. Over 30 people have died and about 100 have been infected since the outbreak last year.

Sachet prices could go up to 50p

The price of sachet water is set to increase this week to reflect Ghana’s water, electricity and fuel cost hikes, possibly increasing to 50p a sachet. Magnus Nunoo, President-Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers who is also Chief Executive Officer of Mobile Water, told Ghana’s B&FT the prices needed to increase since electricity tariffs increased by 59.2 percent and water by 67.2 percent, while a 27 percent tax has been added to petroleum products.

Christian Atsu to complete move to the Spanish La Liga

Ghanaian player Christian Atsu is set to complete a transfer move to the Spanish La Liga. The Black Stars player returned to Chelsea after a disappointing spell with English Premier League club AFC Bournemouth at the beginning of the year. The player has been given permission to speak to La Liga teams including Malaga, Levante, Espanyol and Rayo Vallecano who are all interested in signing the Ghana international.
