Nigeria’s Super Eagles will take the pitch against Argentina in November as equals according to the team’s assistant coach, Salisu Yusuf.
The Super Eagles will meet fellow World Cup qualifiers ,Argentina in a friendly game in Moscow on November 14.
“My players are equal to the task any time anywhere and we are not afraid of big names because big names no longer play football, but talent and determination are key to winning matches,’’ the coach said.
Nigeria has struggled to beat Argentina in competitive games at the senior level,losing all their encounters against the Albiceleste at the World Cup.Their last trump was a 4-1 win in a friendly game.
The team’s coach Gernot Rohr has already revealed he will take a full strength squad to Russia for the game.
Argentina struggled to qualify for the World Cup, needing a majestic individual performance from their superstar Lionel messi to ensue qualification on the final day in South America.
Coach Jorge Sampaoli has called up 22 stars for the friendlies against Russia and Nigeria, including Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero, Paulo Dybala, Javier Mascherano and Angel Di MarÃa.
Eight players have been placed on a standby list, including Guido Pizarro (Sevilla), Emanuel Mammana (Zenit), Giovanni Lo Celso (PSG), Emanuel Lanzini (West Ham), Gerónimo Rulli (Real Sociedad) and JoaquÃn Correa (Sevilla) and Emiliano Insúa (Stuttgart).
