Manchester United have confirmed that are set to sign of Bayern Munich midfielder, Bastian Schweinsteiger.
The confirmation statement was posted club's official website which revealed that the signing is just subject to medical and personal terms.
"Manchester United is delighted to announce it has reached agreement with Bayern Munich to sign midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, subject to a medical and personal terms,' the message said.
Bayern Munich chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge also confirmed that they have concluded talks and reach an agreement with Manchester United for the transfer of the midfielder.
Rummenigge said the the 30-year-old opted to move to Manchester United despite being offered a new contract to stay at the Allianz Arena.
"Bastian wants to do something new at the end of his career. He asked that we meet his wishes," Rummenigge said at a press conference.
"My colleagues at Manchester United have been in touch. We have reached an agreement over a transfer.
''It's regrettable because Bastian meant a great deal to the club. He achieved great things.
"We say goodbye on great terms. 'I can only wish Bastian all the best. It will be an interesting new challenge for him. I am convinced that he will play well there."
Schweinsteiger will undergo a medical at Manchester United's Carrington based training ground on Saturday, July 11.
The 30-year-old will become the first ever German to play for the Old Trafford club and will reunited with Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal who coached Bayern between 2009 and 2011.
German newspaper reported on Friday night that Schweinsteiger had agreed a three-year contract worth £7.2m-a-year with United.
This will be Manchester United's third signing of this summer after the purchase of forward Memphis Depay and Italian right back Matteo Darmian.
Schweinsteiger made a total of 500 first-team appearances and scored 67 goals.
He won won eight Bundesliga titles, seven German Cups, the UEFA Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup during his 17-year stay at the club.
A German international of 111 caps, he was part of the team that lifted the FIFA World Cup in Brazil last year.
