West Ham United coach Slaven Bilic has praised the goal scoring abilities of attacker Andre Ayew following his exploits in the club’s 2-0 win over Huddersfield on Monday.

The 27-year-old came off the bench to inspire the Hammers to first win of the season after having a hand in the all two of the club’s goals.

Ayew set up Pedro Obiang for West Ham United’s first goal, before adding the second with a deft finish from six yards out.

The former OlympiqueMarseille attacker’s exploits impressed manager Slaven Bilic, who has described the Ghana international as a serial scorer.

Speaking after the club’s 2-0 win over Huddersfield, Bilic said: “At a point, we needed to take risks even though Javier Hernandez Chicharito was playing well. I noticed he was getting tired as he had gone to play for Mexico and so I had to change things.

“That was the perfect moment for Andre Ayew to come into the game. We had to get fresh legs on the field and you know that Andre always scores and goals and he did that again for us.”

The win over Huddersfield marked West Ham’s first of the season, after three previous loses on the spin against Manchester United, Southampton and Newcastle United.
