Ghana have failed to win the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) since 1982, despite having appeared in the final on three occasion, after they conquered the continent in Libya.
Black Stars skipper Asamoah Gyan and his deputy have hatched a plan to end the continental trophy drought for Ghana in 2019.
And James Kwesi Appia is also optimistic that Black Stars ability to clinch the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations is not far from fetch.
''Yes, I think we have the quality players to win the tournament but it does not come out of the blow that once you have a good team you should win a tournament,'' he told Kumasi-based Kessben FM.
''I must commend Prez Akufo-Addo for starting this project now to help the team win the tournament. If all stakeholders play their role very well it is when the nation can challenge the technical team to win the trophy.
''It is important to go to the tournament with a vision and mindset to clinch the ultimate.''
Ghana have already booked its place in the continental showpiece.
The hosts for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations which is scheduled for June this year is yet to be determined after Cameroon were stripped of their hosting rights
