Italian giants AC Milan have officially completed the signing of former Schalke 04 midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng.

The German-born Ghana international, who has also played for Hertha Berlin, Portsmouth and Tottenham Hotspur, joined Milan in 2010 before leaving for Germany's Schalke three years later.

Boateng has not played since he was released by Schalke in May for what the Bundesliga club said was a break down in trust between club and player.

Electoral violence is fast becoming a dangerous stain on Ghana’s democratic record. Once seen as isolated incidents, violent disruptions are now a recurring feature of our elections. The question remains: how do we confront this growing canker before it weakens our democracy beyond repair?

This afternoon, Boateng’s contract has officially been deposited with the Lega Serie A, meaning he is now free to be involved in competitive games for the Diavolo.

Boateng made 100 appearances in his previous spell with the Rossoneri, scoring 17 goals and helping his side to the 2011 Scudetto.

He joined Schalke in 2013 for a €10m fee, but was suspended by the Bundesliga side earlier this year for poor behaviour.

His contract with the club was terminated on December 8, and he will now look to get his career back on track with Milan.
