Head coach of Ghana’s U-17 side, Paa Kwesi Fabin , is optimistic about the chances of his team going into the world cup.
The 2017 U-17 World Cup will be hosted in India from October 6 to 26, with the Black Starlets aiming to become champions of the competition for the third time.
Ghana has been drawn in a tough group which contains hosts India, as well as USA and Columbia.

However, Black Starlets coach Paa Kwesi Fabin believes his side has what it takes to win the tournament, adding that the new faces in the team could help make the difference.
“I can compete for the trophy perfectly because of the performance of the new players such as Richard Danso from WAFA, [and] the three Right to Dream boys,” he opined while addressing the media.

“Isaac Gyamfi who could not make it to[U-17] AFCON due to groin injury is also back fully fit. There is big competition in the team and I believe it is good for us. The team spirit and morale is also high, I can predict we will win the trophy.”
Ghana qualified to the world cup after finishing as runners-up to Mali in the U-17 Africa Nations Cup, following a 1-0 loss in the final.
