A final year student of the University of Ghana has drowned in the universitys swimming pool.
The student has been named by friends as Dennis Akoto, a student of Economics and Information Studies. The incident happened on Saturday as he went to the pool to relax.
He is said to have celebrated his 22nd birthday last Monday. Accra-based Citi FM reports that he was rushed to the university's hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
"Dennis is a very good swimmer and very cautious”, a friend expressed shock in an interview with Citi FM.
