Student arraigned before court for robbery and intended rape

A student of the University of Ghana, Lawrence Sena Attipoe has being arraigned before an Accra circuit Court for alleged robbery.

The court, presided over by Justice Aboagye Tandoh was made known that the complainant in the case lives in Legon a Suburb of Accra according to the prosecuting Superintendent of Police Duuti Tuaruku in his report.

The accused person attacked the complainant at a spot near the University of Ghana stadium close to the Noguchi Junction at about 5:15am on April 25.

He later revealed that the accused person, who was wearing a black-hood jacket with a cap, pulled the complainant from behind into a nearby bush and compelled her to lie on the ground and remove her panties.

He continued to say, Lawrence pointed a knife at the complainant and threatened to kill her if she should shout.

Superintendent of Police Tuaruku further said Lawrence tried to rape her but failed since penetration wasn’t fruitful.

The Prosecution said the accused then ordered the complainant to put his penis into her mouth, which she obeyed and sucked it until he ejaculated into her mouth.

The accused collected the complainant’s bag, searched through it and in the process took a Blue mobile phone valued at GH 750 and cash of GH 100 and bolted off.

On the same day, accused person started sending whatsapp messages to complainant’s contacts requesting for money, he added.

The accused person later gave the contacts a Tigo mobile money account number belonging to his friend, one Tetteh, who was also a witness in the case.

During investigations the police tracked the Tigo number and that led to the arrest of the accused.

Lawrence Sena Attipoe who pleaded not guilty will reappear before court.
