Kumbeni, who is an advocate for clean renewable energy, has been involved in cycling for some years now but this is set to be his first expedition outside the country.

He made the headlines earlier this year after riding 815km from Bolgatanga to Accra to raise awareness about climate change.

Ghanaian boxer Seth Gyimah, popularly known as Freezy Macbones, and his French partner are celebrating the birth of their baby boy.

Freezy Macbones took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday to announce the birth of their son.

The boxer shared photos of the baby, who was born on Monday, November 25, 2024, and also revealed his name to be Quincy.

Earlier this year, Freezy Macbones denied reports that he was in a romantic relationship with media personality Deloris Frimpong Manso (Delay).

He had appeared on The Delay Show in January, where he openly expressed his desire to marry the radio and television presenter.

"I can't believe I'm seated right in front of you. You can ask Sister Dentaa; I've always told her that I won't marry anyone except you. Meeting you is all part of God's plan,” he said on the show.

Freezy Macbones’ comments sparked dating rumours between the pair, especially after both were spotted together on different occasions.

However, the 34-year-old later set the records straight on his relationship with Delay, insisting they were just friends.

"Delay is beautiful and is doing very well in her life. Many Ghanaians like her because of how she carries herself. Even on social media, business and all that stuff. And she is helping the Youth. So having such a person as a friend really helps. Delay is my friend," he said on Asempa FM.

The announcement of the birth of his baby boy with his French partner certainly puts to bed his relationship status.

The Black Stars’ recent struggles went from bad to worse on Monday when they lost 1-2 to Niger in their final 2025 AFCON qualifying game at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Goals from Ousseini Badamassi and Oumar Sako ensured Jerry Afriyie’s strike would only count as a consolation for the hosts, who ended the qualifiers with zero wins.

Ghana will, therefore, be absent from next year’s tournament in Morocco after finishing at the bottom of a group that contained Angola, Sudan and Niger.

The team’s failure left head coach Otto Addo at the mercy of journalists when he stepped out for his post-match press conference.

In what was a very hostile environment, the 49-year-old was faced with critical questions from all angles.

There was also a heated moment between Addo and Adom FM presenter Kobby Stone, who had questioned the coach’s tactical nous.

The reporter had sought to suggest Addo was more qualified as a scout than a head coach, which led to a pushback from the former Borussia Dortmund trainer.

In trying to defend himself, Addo said: “Twelve years of coaching and six months of scouting. Now I ask you: what am I?”

Kobby Stone, however, replied rather bluntly: “Then I think you’re good at scouting than coaching, because in coaching you’re not good at all!”

Meanwhile, some have described the journalist’s posture as disrespectful, while others believe Addo’s poor record does little to absorb him from that tag.

Otto Addo was given a rough reception by journalists following Ghana’s shocking defeat to Niger, with one journalist telling him “You’re not a good coach at all.”

Ghana will be absent from next year’s tournament in Morocco after finishing at the bottom of a group that contained Angola, Sudan and Niger.

The Black Stars’ hopes of qualifying for the AFCON were ended following their 1-1 draw with Angola in Luanda last Friday.

However, they did very little to impress their home fans in their final qualifying game, having been beaten 1-2 by Niger at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday.

The defeat saw the four-time African champions end the qualifying campaign in embarrassing fashion, with no wins from six matches.

<h2>Otto Addo faces criticism from Ghanaians on social media</h2>

It also marked the first time in two decades that Ghana have failed to qualify for the AFCON, having last done so in 2004.

While Otto Addo rendered an unqualified apology to the Ghanaian supporters in his post-match press conference, some still took to social media to hit out at his performance in the dugout.

Ghanaian fans on social media have torn into Coach Otto Addo following the Black Stars’ failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

He was said to have been rushed to a hospital in London after complaining of chest pains but unfortunately gave up the ghost at the facility.

Osei's death was confirmed in a tribute shared by his former club Kotoko on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

"We are deeply saddened by the passing of our former player and coach Michael Osei, having sadly suffered with a heart condition in recent months.&nbsp;The thoughts of everyone at the club are with his family and colleagues. Rest in peace, Michael," the club posted.

Osei made his name as a player with Kotoko in the early 1990s, helping them to win two Ghana Premier League titles.

He went on to have a decent career in Germany, where he lined up for Eintracht Frankfurt and Mainz 05, among others.

He retired from professional football in 2006 following a brief spell with German lower-tier side Alemannia Haibach.

Osei immediately ventured into coaching and worked as an assistant manager for FSV Frankfurt’s reserve side.

He then had spells with Ghana Premier League clubs New Edubiase and Kotoko as an assistant manager before becoming the substantive coach of the Porcupine Warriors in 2016.

The former midfielder led Kotoko to win the President’s Cup before later managing Liberty Professionals and Star Madrid.

Osei’s last managerial job was at Bibiani Gold Stars, where he served as head coach from 2021 to 2023.

Former Asante Kotoko player and coach Michael Osei has reportedly passed away at the age of 53.

The Ghana defender said it was the Blues’ doctor, Paco Biosca, who convinced him that he could still have a career after that terrible injury.

Rahman was on a promising career path when he joined Chelsea in 2015 and was later loaned to Bundesliga side Schalke O4 for the 2016-17 season.

However, he suffered a ligament tear during Ghana’s opening game against Uganda at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

That injury kept him on the sidelines for nearly two years, with the 30-year-old enduring a setback shortly after recovering from his first ACL injury.

Rahman has since put his injury woes behind him and is currently enjoying his football at POAK after joining the Greek side in 2023.

Discussing his time at Chelsea, the Ghana international said injuries didn’t allow him to give his best at the English club, revealing that it was Dr. Paco who talked him out of retirement after his second ACL injury.

“I am sad things didn’t work out at Chelsea. I just had so many bad injuries, and because I wasn’t 100% fit, I wasn’t able to give my absolute best,” Rahman told BBC Sport.

“I owe them a lot because it was Dr. Paco who convinced me not to retire after my second ACL injury. It had taken me 18 months to come back, and when the doctor told me I had another ACL injury, I decided that I had had enough."

“I told my family I was quitting. But Dr. Paco said that he had seen other players come back and promised that if I was patient and mentally strong, I could do it too. I slept on it and then decided I wanted to fight for my career.”

Rahman has played 18 matches in all competitions this season for PAOK, contributing five goals and one assist.

In his debut season with the Hammers, the Ghana international contributed 14 goals and six assists in all competitions.

He also set the record for the most successful dribbles in a single Premier League game when West Ham faced Chelsea and ended the 2023/24 campaign as the best dribbler in Europe.

“With Mo’s [Mohammed Kudus] talent, there’s a 100% chance that he can win [African Footballer of the Year],” Antonio said on Joy Sports’ Prime Take.

“Obviously, there are some great potentials there. There’s [Pierre] Aubameyang, there’s Mo Salah, there’s [Sadio] Mane, and there’s definitely Kudus, but I believe he has the talent to do it.”

“It’s just that he needs the surroundings of his team to help him to do it, and right now, Ghana isn’t at that quality. Ghana has a quality past and quality history, but right now, they’re not doing as well as they feel like they should be doing.”

Meanwhile, Kudus will be hoping to get back to scoring when Ghana face Angola in a 2025 AFCON qualifier on Friday.
