Austin Kwesi Okere, the Founder and Chairman of CWG Plc, the parent company of CWG Ghana, delivered the welcome address, reminiscing about the company's incredible journey and its unwavering commitment to helping Africa harness its future potential.

Reflecting on the past two decades, Okere stated, "When we started CWG Ghana 20 years ago, we saw a huge opportunity to replicate our proven strategy of service excellence and customer intimacy in a rapidly growing market. Ghana has since become a major player in the African economy, and we are proud to have played a role in its growth and development."

Indeed, CWG Ghana has played a pivotal role in the nation's technological advancement by providing IT solutions and services to various sectors, including telecoms, banking, oil and gas, and government. Moreover, the company has been instrumental in nurturing Ghana's tech sector through initiatives like the CWG Academy, which offers training and employment opportunities to fresh graduates.

Okere also expressed the company's vision for the future: "As we look to the next 20 years, we are committed to deepening our local product and service offerings, providing superior value to our customers, while conserving our scarce foreign exchange reserves. We are also focused on supporting the growth of Ghana's tech sector and helping to position Africa for the future."

Highlighting the importance of partnerships, Okere stressed that they are crucial for enabling Africa to fully embrace digital and technology-driven solutions across critical sectors of the economy.

During the event, Mr. Okere took the opportunity to acknowledge the significant contributions of CWG Ghana's customers, partners, regulators, and staff to its success. He also paid special tribute to past Managing Directors of CWG Ghana, Thaddeus Babaoye, Femi Ibine, and Anthony Dadzie, for their pioneering work.

Richard Okyere-Fosu, the Director-General of the National Information Technology Agency (NITA), praised CWG Ghana for its remarkable contributions to Ghana's technology landscape. He emphasized the pivotal role the company has played in advancing technological advancements across various sectors in the country. Okyere-Fosu also highlighted the importance of such partnerships and collaborations in driving Ghana's digital transformation agenda forward, reaffirming NITA's support for CWG.

Harriet Attram Yartey, the Managing Director of CWG Ghana, provided insights into the company's formative years, recalling the challenges that forged CWG Ghana's resilience. She remarked, "In those early days, we faced challenges that tested our mettle, obstacles that would have deterred the faint-hearted. Yet, it was precisely during these trying times that the core of CWG Ghana was forged."

Mrs. Yartey further detailed the company's year-long 20th-anniversary celebration program, including a technology conference, a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative called 'ICT for Girls,' and a gala night, among other activities.

She also voiced the company's readiness to tackle future challenges in the tech sector over the next two decades. She called for increased investment in Ghana's tech ecosystem and emphasized the importance of creating a business-friendly environment for key industry stakeholders.
