The MP said he was committed to improving education at the basic and senior high school levels, pointing out that the best way to improve education in the area was to institute a scholarship, which would encourage students to study hard.
He was optimistic that the gesture would be sustained to relieve their parents of the burden of paying fees, adding that in the coming years, more students will benefit from the scheme.
He made this known at the annual launch of Segefest hosted by the youth of Sege.
Mr. Otuteye pledged continued support for young and brilliant students from poor homes to pursue academic careers.
He said the scholarship was not only meant to offer financial assistance but to inspire them to work hard to achieve academic laurels.
He has also promised to provide the constituency with an ICT centre to help provide comfortable place for the students to study.
Earlier, an annual inter-school quiz competition was held for basic schools to help raise the standard of education in the constituency.
The quiz competition involved pupils from two selected basic schools which were Glorious Home academy and Sege Community JHS.
