Mahama was sharing leaflets, not money – Chief of Staff
A video making the rounds shows President Mahama sharing something that looked paper-like in nature to some traders in the market. But Julius Debrah said it could be leaflets and not money.
He said President Mahama could have been sharing leaflets and not cash.
Speaking on Accra-based Joy FM he said “it is also possible that it could be a leaflet. Anytime the president walks he does not carry cash on him and that is the tradition from generation so I will be very very surprised if the president had cash on him."

Debrah said even though he has not seen the purported video he argued that from his knowledge of President Mahama he will not go about sharing money.
“Having worked with him closely I believe that under no circumstance will he be throwing money around,” he said.

The camera did not capture what exactly the paper-like item was. But it showed President Mahama taking something from his car and giving out to some traders in the market.
However, Debrah insists that the President will not go sharing money no matter the circumstance.
“I believe sincerely that knowing President Mahama, he wouldn’t deliberately go to a marketplace and start throwing money around. He is a very experienced person,” he stressed.
