Parts of Ghana plunged into darkness again - Gridco

Engineers of the Ghana grid company are currently working to restore power to some parts of the country that have been cut from the National grid since about midday today January 25.

This is the second time parts of the country have been plunged into darkness in 5 days after gridco experienced a system collapse at about 5:20am Jan 21.

The Ministry of power confirmed power was restored to Close to 60% of the country before close of day Jan 21.

But it has emerged efforts by engineers of the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) working on the 330kV transmission line that developed a fault resulting in a partial system collapse on Thursday January 21, 2016 has resulted in the latest incident.

according to a statement from GRIDCo In the course of the repairs the system experienced another challenge leading to some parts of the country going off again.

Engineers of GRIDCo have however isolated the fault and begun restoring power to the affected areas.
