This follows a breach of contract under the free laptop distribution programme in 2010.
The Environment, Science and Technology Minister, Prof Kwabena Frimpong Boateng who disclosed this said that an agreement has been reached with the company for a refund of the amount.
He was speaking before the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament on Friday, in response to details of the findings of the 2015 Auditor General’s Report.

The Report cited RLG Company Limited for defaulting in supplying laptops per the contract.
The Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation as part of moves to promote indigenous Ghanaian businesses, entered into an agreement with RLG Communications Ltd. to produce and distribute 103,181 pieces of laptops at a total cost of GHS51, 257, 500.00.

Out of the total, RLG supplied and distributed 90, 448 pieces, leaving a balance of 12, 733 pieces worth GHS6, 366, 875.00.
Meanwhile, members of the Public Accounts committee have produced letters Rlg had written to the government saying it has honoured its obligations.
In one of the letters, the company said it supplied a total of 3,000 laptops which were of high quality to make up for the 12,000 lower spec laptops it failed to supply.
But the Environment Minister said the 3,000 laptops supplied did not meet specification and could not have made up for 12,000 laptops that were not supplied.
Chairman of the PAC James Klutse Avedzi subsequently asked the minister to engage officials of the company to come out with an agreement.
He said that the minister can head to the Attorney General for advice if the company fails to come to an agreement.
