Capt. Mahama was murdered in Diaso in the Upper Denkyeira West District of the Central Region by a mob who mistook him for a thief.
Family members, including former president John Mahama, tried consoling her with the former president holding her hand and one woman behind her whispering to her to take heart. A man is also pictured whispering to her words to condolence.
She arrived in Ghana from Britain on Friday aboard a British Airways flight.
The family has scheduled Friday June 9 for his burial, the family spokesman, WOII Ibrahim Samed, has said.
He will be buried at the military cemetery in Accra, Samed told to the media.
According to him, the family is planning three funerals for the fallen soldier: one in Accra, one in Bole, the paternal grandmother’s hometown in the Northern Region and the last one at Tumu, the paternal grandfather’s hometown in the Upper West Region.
The late Captain was the son of Captain Chubby Adam Mahama (Rtd.), who has disclosed plans to set up a civil group to combat the menace of mob justice in the country.
