The Gender Minister, Otiko Afisa Djaba has pleaded with Ghanaians to forgive her following days of verbal exchanges between her and the Northern Regional Chairman New Patriotic Party (NPP), Daniel Bugri Naabu.
Otiko apologises to Ghanaians for Bugri Naabu fight
This comes on the back of a feud between Mr Naabu and Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Ms Otiko Afisa Djaba.
Mr Bugri Naabu on Friday disrupted a meeting called by Ms Djaba in Tamale after accusing the minister of attempting to cause confusion over the appointment of a Coordinator of School Feeding Programme.
The Minister subsequently in an interview accused Mr. Bugri Naabu of collecting money, goats, cows and other things from people with the assurance of jobs with the National School Feeding Programme.
Bugri Naabu has since threatened to sue Ms Otiko Djaba for accusing him of taking a bribe.
John Boadu, the National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party has also downplayed the bribery allegations, adding that the party will investigate the issue.
But speaking on the 'The Pulse' on Joy News channel on MultiTV Tuesday, Ms Otiko Djaba said she is sorry for her actions.
According to her, she was forced to react to Bugri Naabu’s comments because she felt disrespected.
“Because I am a woman he feels he can bully me...but I apologise to all Ghanaians for what happened,” she said.
