Rapper,
âI will urge Charterhouse to take this particular category off. How are they trying to determine? Is it by hearing it at pubs? We donât have pubs that login for you to know how many times the song was played. We should be realistic about it because we donât have the structures,â he is quoted by starrfmonline.com to have said on Starr FMâs The Zone.
âWe should find things that are realistic. If I stay in James Town, the most popular song might be Nii Funnyâs record because that is my territory and for someone in Legon it might be âMI Naa Bo Poâ by E.L, and so thereâs no way you can tell that person âEkiiki miâ is better...so for me the category is bogus,â he added.
Many pundits have questioned how a popular song is determined. But Charterhouse, has argued that the scheme is a popularity-based, stressing that winners are chosen based on accumulated votes from the public, board and academy.
