According to claim by an Argentinian scientist Santiago Lopez Menendez, Messi saved him from kidnappers in Nigeria where he works.
The young man who works as an agronomist for Nigeria Flour Mills and managed two farms in Niger State claims that he was kidnapped by a group of armed men on his way to work on Wednesday, June 24.
Menendez was released three days after a ransom was paid but claimed that it was the mention of Messi's name that saved his life.

His captors thought he was an American but to convinced them that he was an Argentine, he resorted to calling Messi's name.
"Messi! Messi! Messi!" Menendez sang and he was treated better afterwards.
