The girl boldly told the court that 29-year-old Tyler David Millward did not have sex with her forcibly, suggesting that it was a consensual sex which they both enjoyed.

Reports say the suspect has lost his job as a science teacher at Athens High School following his arrest by the police based on allegation that he had sexual relationship with the girl when she was only 16 years old.

The alleged abuse reportedly started from July 2017 through January this year.

He was accused of using phone to send text messages to the youngster and taking her to a hotel, but he reportedly lied to investigators.

If found guilty of charges of using a computer to communicate with another to commit the crime of third-degree criminal sexual conduct and three counts of lying to police, Tyler David Millward may be spending 20 years in prison.

Police have said in a statement that: “The charges are a result from the investigation that was opened in January 2018, which Millward was involved in a teacher/student relationship. There are several aspects of the investigation that are ongoing.”

The court had initially issued an order restraining the suspect from contacting the girl, but the victim said: “He has never been a threat and he has never hurt me. He never told me to say anything or push me to do anything against my will. I wish to have contact.”
