A 70-year-old paedophile,
Punch reports that Pa Akindele, a resident of Michael Ayegusi Street, Owode Ijako, in the Ado-Odo/ Ota Local Government Area of the state, lured the little into a toilet at his residence and defiled her when she was sent on an errand by her mother.

It was gathered that when the girl got back home, her mother noticed the unusual way she walked and inquired from her and the girl used sign language to tell the mother what Akindele did to her and the mother went to the Sango Ota Police Division to lodge a complaint.

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi, has confirmed the incident, saying the suspect has confessed to the crime and would be charged to court.
“The mother, who noticed an unusual behaviour from the girl after the incident, used sign language to inquire from her daughter.
The girl informed her of the incident, which prompted the mother to report the matter to the police,” ASP Oyeyemi said.
The PPRO added that the State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, had directed that the case be transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Abeokuta, for proper investigation.
