To celebrate, every Friday this summer we’re bringing you a digest to get you ready for the weekend. Want to know how to stay stylish, fit, and fueled? We’ve got you covered. The weekend is here; let us be your guide.
Challenge Your Body in Three Minutes
Rob Sulaver, founder of Bandana Training and founding trainer at Rumble Boxing in New York City, stopped by our MH Rec Room and showed us a three-minute circuit you can use as a stand-alone or as a workout finisher.
The three moves are: the dumbbell thruster, bent-over dumbbell row, and mountain climber. Go through the circuit five times as fast as you can without pausing. In the first round you’ll do 10 reps of each move. In the second round you’ll do eight. Then six, and so on, all the way down to two. If you finish your five rounds in less than three minutes, hold a plank for the remaining time.
Step Up Your Sandal Game
There's no need to hit the beach or pool deck in an old pair of flip flops. Instead, reach for one of these 13 pairs. From minimalist designs to never-fail favorites like Birkenstocks, these man sandals will save you from embarrassment and keep you looking and feeling cool all summer long.
A Guide to Summer Body Hair
With summer officially here (as of Wednesday), it's time to give some thought to manscaping. We don't mean below the belt, we're referring to chest, armpit, and even back hair. From finding the right clippers to determining the proper length and even how to treat your skin afterward, we've got you covered.
DIY Your Salad Dressing
Summer is the perfect time to nosh on fresh vegetables and crisp greens, which makes salads an easy go-to healthy meal. But why douse all of those good-for-you nutrients with a heavy, creamy dressing?
"Avocados contain heart-healthy fats. Ranch? Not so much," says Men's Health food and nutrition editor Paul Kita. He recommends swapping the bottled stuff from a made-from-scratch dressing. To make, blend 1 avocado with the juice from 1 lime, adding additional water to thin, if necessary. Then season to taste with salt and pepper.
