West Indies' World Twenty20 star Marlon Samuels will look to extend his brilliant form to one-day internationals after being named in the tri-series squad.
West Indies name experienced squad for tri-series
Marlon Samuels and the rest of West Indies' squad will be hoping to continue their magnificent T20 form in the one-day format.
Samuels headlines the 14-man squad for the upcoming tri-series against South Africa and Australia as the Windies aim to build on their World T20 triumph.
Jason Holder captains the team and will look to trouble the scorers, while Carlos Braithwaite will also be seeking some big performances, with two ODI debutants named in the squad.
Off-spinner Ashley Nurse will make his debut in the format, while fast bowler Shannon Gabriel also comes into the team having played 16 Test matches.
Nurse was a part of the Windies' triumphant World T20 squad but did not play a game during the tournament in India.
He has played four T20 Internationals, but is yet to take an international wicket, allowing 102 runs off 78 balls.
Gabriel has taken 34 Test wickets from 16 matches and has an economy of 3.50 in the five-day format as he awaits his ODI debut.
The Windies welcome South Africa and Australia to their shores for the 10-match ODI tri-series, with matches starting on June 3 in the Guyana National Stadium, before moving to Warner Park, St Kitts and finishing on June 26 in Barbados.
West Indies open the tri-series against the Proteas on June 3.
