BOST saga was an “organised crime” – Franklin Cudjoe

Speaking on Saturday, Mr Cudjoe said he belives the 5 milion litres of fuel was deliberately contaminated so that it could sold at knockdown prices.

He said on Citi FM's "The Big Isue": “Somebody must have been engaged in this whole fuel fraud and somehow it needed to be offloaded.

"And a company has been set up not properly incorporated and we have decided to reduce that value of whatever has been contaminated deliberately, I don’t think it was a mistake.

"This fuel fraud is an organized crime. It is not just in Ghana…Don’t ever think these things are done by mistake."

On Friday, New Patriotic Party MPs backed calls for a full scaled investigation into the matter but suggested th investigation should start from 2009.

They also accused the fomer BOST managing director, Awuah Darko, of making some questionable payment to the presidency under the watch of former President John Mahama which requires investigations.

They also accused Mr Mahama and his Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, of taking a bimonthly amount of $2.5 milliion and $3 million.
