Ghanaians scramble for Government Affordable Housing Units

The Ministry of Water Resources Works and Housing has revealed that the first phase of the project has been completed, and commissioned by President John Dramani Mahama for sale to begin.

Abraham Otabil, Head of Communications of the Works and Housing Ministry revealed that a committee has been set aside to ascertain the pricing and effective sale of the 1500 houses that have already been completed.

“ The Ministry on a daily basis receives a number of requests from many prospective buyers. About 700 people express interest in occupying these facilities and I can tell you that on a daily basis not less than 50 people visit the Ministry in search of these affordable housing projects so it clearly indicates that there is a high demand for the affordable housing project”, he told Citi Fm.

The affordable housing project was commenced in 2013, and is expected to construct 5000 housing units for middle income- earners.
