Traditionally, the completion of tertiary education confers on one a social maturity and independence that most people are not ready for. Youâre expected to live alone, have a work that is self-sustaining and join the train to success. Expectations are very high and no one wants to be a disappointment.
While youâre thinking about the next big step to take in your life, these are four things to do after your national service.
Build up your CV by taking up volunteering opportunities
Unfortunately, some students didnât take advantage of clubs, organizations and projects while in school to engage in profitable activities that could upgrade their CV.
Itâs however not too late. You donât have to land a job of your dreams by all means after service. Build yourself first. Volunteerism is a great way to learn very useful skills that are employment worthy.
For some of them, you could get some stipend enough to get you by as you prepare for that big opportunity to come your way.
