The Akim Oda Divisional Police Commander in the Eastern region has been interdicted for ordering his subordinates to free three suspects arrested for allegedly dealing in narcotics.
Chief Superintendent Ebenezer Ampofo has been accused by his officers of taking huge sums from drug suspects and releasing them without trial.

Boakye mentioned one Mr. Henaku and Paa Kwesi as his suppliers after offering Isahaku a bribe of ¢1,000 to drop the case which the police officer rejected and arrested him.
The Police Commander reportedly threatened to transfer another officer who refused to take his share of the bribe he received from some drug dealers.

He has also been accused of taking GHC 33,000 from other suspects arrested by the patrol team and promised to give a substantial part of the money to the IGP.
