GHC 100,000 personal accident cover provided to 2015 CIMG Marketing Man & Woman

The 2015 CIMG Marketing Man and Woman, Mr. Patrick Akorli - Managing Director of GOIL and Ms. Maidie Elizabeth Arkutu - Managing Director of Unilever respectively, were awarded a total of GHC 100,000 Personal Accident cover as they start their one-year journey of impacting the marketing profession in Ghana.

The Group Head, Corporate Affairs & Marketing of GLICO GROUP, Nana Efua Rockson presented the Personal Accident cover to the 2015 CIMG Marketing Man and Woman, who each received a GHC 50,000 cover limit.

Explaining the rationale behind the award of the Personal Accident Cover, Nana Efua elucidated that, “life is all about risk and risk mitigation. As the topmost Marketing Man and Woman start their one-year journey of influencing marketing in Ghana, it is important they feel secured and have the peace of mind to carry out their duties. It is for this reason that GLICO GROUP offered a Personal Accident cover to afford them protection during their tenure”.

Nana Efua further added that GLICO cushions all for life and this gesture is GLICO’s token contribution to see Marketing evolve in Ghana, because there will be no great companies without great marketing persons. Excellent service delivery requires a deliberate attempt to embed marketing principles in business operations to remain relevant to stakeholders.

The Executive Director of CIMG, Mr. Kwabena Agyekum also highlighted the fact that GLICO has applied marketing principles to its business growth for close to thirty years. He stated that, it was for this reason that GLICO GROUP’s Executive Chairman, Mr. Kwame Achampong-Kyei, was awarded the “CIMG Marketing Man of the year in 2008.

Mr. Agyekum further added that GLICO and the CIMG have a good business relationship and that GLICO has always reached out to the CIMG on marketing-related issues, advice and directions.

The 27 CIMG award ceremony was held at the Banquet Hall, State House on the theme, “Democracy and National Cohesion: Marketing a New Political Paradigm”.

It is worthy to note that, to date, Mr. Achampong-Kyei remains the only Marketing Man in the insurance industry.
