I'm ready to be the next President of Ghana – Asiedu Nketia

Asiedu Nketia mentioned how he rose through the ranks from the grassroots through to his current position as the General Secretary.

He said he's qualified for the position to lead the NDC when given the opportunity in elections 2020.

"I am ready to lead the NDC in the 2020 general elections. Who will not be happy when called upon to be the President of Ghana?," he said.

Speaking toKSM on the 'Bo Me Nkomo' show, Asiedu Nketia recalled some of his achievements since entering into politics in 1978.

He said, he began as a Towns Development Committee Secretary doubling as a teacher and later joined the PNDC revolution from 1978-1979 and became a Bank Manager and got the chance to be elected as an assembly member when the district assembly elections started.

Mr. Nketia explained that, former President John Mahama, Alban Bagbin and former Speaker of Parliament Doe Adjaho approached him to lead the party as the General-Secretary.

"My colleagues President Mahama, Alban Bagbin and Doe Adjaho approached to convince me to take up the General Secretary role of the party in order for the party to win the next election. Therefore I had to abandon all my plans and work for the party till now. This is my twelve year as the General-Secretary of the NDC," he added.
