Ghana emerged champion at the Onga Jollof Battle (West African Edition 2), after an exciting culinary showdown at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra. The competition brought together representatives from Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire and Sierra Leone to celebrate one of West Africa’s most loved dishes and put their Jollof credentials to the test.

Representing Ghana, Chef Gigi, with the support of Chef Michael, impressed the judges with the winning Jollof that earned Ghana the coveted Jollof crown and secured Chef Gigi the US$5,000 ultimate prize. Team Senegal emerged first runner-up and received US$3,000, while Team Sierra Leone finished as second runner-up and took home US$1,000. The results delivered a memorable climax to an event filled with flavour, national pride, entertainment and the friendly Jollof rivalry that has made the West African Jollof debate a popular cultural conversation across the region.

Beyond the competition, the Onga Jollof Battle transformed the familiar online “Jollof Wars” into a shared celebration of culinary talent and West African culture.
