Lydia Alhassan visits Ayawaso West Wuogon shooting victims

<a href="https://www.pulse.com.gh/news/politics/apologise-for-calling-lydia-alhassan-a-bloody-widow-ndc-urged/973stbk" id="33917868-7550-472e-8cb5-15c060fa8860">Lydia Seyram Alhassan</a>, the newly elected Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, has visited victims of of the shooting incident that happened during the by-election last week.

About five supporters of the NDC suffered gun shot wounds from operatives believed to be from National Security at the residence of the NDC parliamentary candidate, Delali Brempong.

She presented an undisclosed amount of cash to the victims and prayed for their speedy recovery.

Yesterday, she was sworn-in as the new member of the legislature. During her introduction, members of the NDC boycotted the event raised placards that have 'bloody widow' inscriptions on them.

This has led to the NPP calling on the biggest opposition party to issue an unqualified apology to Lydia for tagging her as a 'bloody widow'

The Second Deputy Majority leader of parliament, Mr Matthew Nyindam, moved a motion on the floor of parliament asking the Minority to apologise to the newly-elected member.
