Al Ittihad down Medeama

The Ghana FA Cup holders were defeated by a goal to nil by the Libyan giant

Medeama until the closing minute of the first half had held the hosts, before a penalty on the stroke of half time was well connected by El Bulki to give his side the opener, which stood to be the only goal of the game.

The first half was dominated by Al Ittihad, who adopted Tunisia as their home grounds due to the unrest in Libya, however, the Yellow and Mauves outfit with defeat smiling at their faces upped their game in the second ,half and demonstrated glimpses of what they are made of.

But for Muntari Tagoe, the scoreline would have been more than just a goal to nil as he put up some impressive saves to keep the attackers of Ittihad at bay.

The second leg will be played in a fortnight’s time at the Essipong Sports Stadium, Sekondi.
