Kotoko will beat Hearts to the trophy - Rep

Mr Tom Kruger is very positive on his team's chances of lifting the the coveted trophy on October 29

On Tuesday, an event was held at the Ghana Football Association Secretariat ahead of the final at the Tamale Sports Stadium.

The event was to outdoor the mascot for the final named “Mr Obiaa nye Obiaa” and also announce packages for both teams at the event.

Tom Kruger the Accra representative for Kumasi Asante Kotoko talked up the chances of his club winning the ultimate over arch rivals Accra Hearts.

Tom Kruger in his submission alluded to the fact that Kotoko had made the most number of finals in the competition since its re-introduction in 2011.

“Asante Kotoko had been the most consistent team in the club since it was introduced so we believe in the fact that we are poised in lifting this trophy.”

Kotoko also beat Hearts of Oak in the 2017 President’s Cup and Mr Kruger was of the belief that will reflect in the MTN FA Cup final

“We defeated Hearts of Oak in the President’s Cup and we believe that once Hearts is here we will beat them to trophy once again.”

Mr Kruger urged the Kotoko fans to travel to Tamale to support their club and wished them a fabulous time.

“At the end of the day, the journey of Hearts of Oak lifting the FA Cup is very and to the fans I wish you a fabulous as we meet there.”

The last time both sides faced each other in the finals of the FA cup was as far back as 1990.

Accra Hearts of Oak have the record of lifting the trophy 10 times whereas Kotoko have won it 8 times.
