Kotoko earn first away win against Dreams FC

Dauda Mohammed scored the fastest goal in the Ghana Premier League under 1 minute at the Dawu Park on Wednesday to give Asante Kotoko their first away league victory.

The porcupine Warriors defeated the debutants by a goal to nil at the Dawu Park.

It was a game of two halves. Kotoko enjoyed greater percentage of the possession in the first half, but Dreams FC came in strongly in the second half, before the Porcupine Warriors in the closing minute bounced back into the game to dictate play.

The sensational youngster for Kotoko, who scored one of his side’s three goals against Liberty Professionals, after disappointing start to the season, continued his goal scoring form by scoring the goal that secured all the three points for the 23 times league champions with just 30 seconds into the first half.

The win is the first for Kumasi Asante Kotoko on the road this season while Dreams FC who had not lost a game at home suffered their first defeat at home.

Kotoko before this game had lost all their three away games: 0-2 against WAFA, 0-2 against Berekum Chelsea and 0-1 to Aduana Stars.

Kotoko who were pushed to the bottom of the table after match day 6, seems to have rediscovered their form, after management asked head coach David Duncan to step aside for his assistant Michael Osei to take over. Osei has won all the three games played so far: defeated Liberty Professionals 3-1 in Kumasi, edged out Real 24 Hours from the FA Cup, before adding Dreams FC to their list of victims.
