Fancy Gadam reveals how Ibrahim Mahama paid for his Accra concert

Fancy Gadam says businessman Ibrahim Mahama supported his career after an unexpected phone call led to a close relationship between them.
The musician revealed that Ibrahim Mahama paid for both the National Theatre venue and sound for one of his concerts in Accra.
Fancy Gadam said the event ultimately became a sold-out concert, describing the businessman’s support as significant to the show.
The Tamale-based artiste recalled how Ibrahim Mahama first reached out to him after becoming impressed by his music and career.
Speaking in an interview with 3Music on August 26, 2026, Fancy Gadam recounted the unusual circumstances surrounding their first interaction.
He said he was in a vehicle when he spotted Ibrahim Mahama and President John Mahama in another vehicle surrounded by a large crowd.
He recalled;
We were in a car when I saw Ibrahim Mahama and President Mahama, and because the crowd there was too much, they had to park

According to Fancy Gadam, the encounter took an unexpected turn when he returned home and his brother told him that Ibrahim Mahama was on the telephone and wanted to speak with him.
Initially, the musician thought his brother was playing a prank on him.
He said;
When I went home, my brother came to me and said Ibrahim Mahama was on the line and he wanted to talk to me. I thought he was joking with me, so I asked him to leave my sight. To my surprise, it was really him
During their first conversation, Ibrahim Mahama reportedly commended Fancy Gadam for his work, paving the way for a closer relationship between the two.
Fancy Gadam explained;
When I answered, he said ‘Mr President’, and I also said Boss. He then told me that I was doing well. Because of that, I built a good relationship with him,
Fancy Gadam said the businessman later demonstrated his support when the musician travelled to Accra to organise a concert at the National Theatre.
He explained that Ibrahim Mahama had previously encouraged him to contact him whenever he was in the capital, advice he followed when preparations for the show began.
He said;
When I booked the venue, I came to Accra. He initially told me that anytime I come to Accra, I should look for him, so I went to see him
During their meeting, Ibrahim Mahama asked Fancy Gadam why he was in Accra. The musician told him about the upcoming concert and the costs involved.
Fancy Gadam recounted;
He asked me what I was doing in Accra, and I told him we were there to do a concert at the National Theatre. He asked how much the venue was; he wanted to help

The musician said Ibrahim Mahama subsequently covered the cost of hiring the National Theatre and also paid for the sound equipment needed for the event.
He added;
He paid for the venue and sound as well. Then we had a sold-out concert
