TOMS donates 10,000 pairs of shoes to youngster

Ghanaian/international movie star, Abraham Attah, returns from the 2016 Oscars with 10,000 pairs of TOMS shoes.

Abraham whose first movie role as Agu has propelled him to stardom is set to return to Ghana with 10,000 pairs of shoes for needy Ghanaian children, according to Konkonsa.com.

Abraham Attah who arrived at the 88th annual Academy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday evening, February 28, dressed in a black tuxedo and velvet TOMS shoes confirmed the news in an interview with Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet.

"This shoes was made by TOMS and it was costume made for only me and they are donation 10,000 pairs of shoes to Ghana so it's pretty cool", Abraham told Ryan Seacrest.

In the addition to Abraham's statement on the red carpet TOMS have also confirmed their kind gesture on the company's official twitter handle "With the help of @AttahNii, we're giving 10k pairs of shoes to kids in need in his home country of Ghana. #Oscars".

The shoe making company later thanked him in a tweet for spreading their news at the Oscars.

The for-profit shoe brand donates a pair of shoes to children in need for every pair sold. Abraham Atta was spotted wearing lace-up TOMS at the Independent Spirit Awards where he won Best Actor in Lead Role for the movie, Beasts of No Nations.

Besides the charitable statement, comfortable footwear has been big in the fashion community for the last few years. Both Attah’s style and message are truly on point and he mounted the Oscars stage to present an awards with Hollywood child Actor Jacob Tremblay.
