Veteran actor, Abeiku Sagoe has called on stakeholders to properly organise the movie industry.

He opines that a careful look at the industry will elevate the status and institute high level of professionalism among movie makers.

Speaking on Joy FM’s Rhythmz A-Z on Saturday, Abeiku Sagoe recounted waiting for a movie director several hours after getting on location, a situation he said does not happen at organised jurisdictions.

“This industry ought to be properly organised. I think actors ought to be taken care of. I have gone on locations and we were asked to sit. We sat for hours before the director came for us to be made up. I have had the opportunity to work with international relations; you are treated like a king,” he noted.

Meanwhile Mr Sagoe has declared his intentions to contest as President of the Ghana Actors Guild.

The umbrella body for actors in the country, has over the years come under a lot of criticisms from stakeholders who have observed that the guild has lost its relevance.

Currently, three executive positions are vacant. The guild has not been able to organise an election after the demise of its president, Rev Eddie Coffie and Welfare Officer, Solomon Sampah. Vivian Achor who is the vice president has travelled outside the country for more than a year without notifying the guild.
