5. Yvonne Nelson Vs. President John Dramani Mahama
Ghallywood/Nollywood multiple award winning actress, Yvonne Nelson was one of the celebrities to foremost complain about the economic hardship under the current John Mahama-led government.
She took to Twitter latter last year to vent her anger on the government in a series of Twitter rants.
4. Pope Skinny Vs. Guru
The Akuapem rapper, Pope Skinny, didn’t take it easy when he realised a few weeks ago that the NKZ rapper, Guru had stolen his music and refused to share stages with him. Unhappy Pope took to Twitter to call him all sort of names – describing him a thief, greedy, bastard, among other names.
The “Kasahari” show host on Adom FM went further to release a single titled “Where Am From” to call him more names but had no responds from the “Obonsam Ani” hit maker, Guru.
3. Wanlov Kubolor Vs. President John Dramani Mahama, Ruby Ametefe, Alfred Woyome, etc
Sensational singer, Wanlov Kubolor has been one of the most controversial celebrities of our time with his consistent rant at the ruling government, colleague artistes and even journalists and music fans.
His ultimate Twitter rant was directed to the incumbent government who couldn’t solve the power crisis which hit the country two years ago including some corrupt practices – such as Ruby Nayele Ametefe’s US$ 5 Million cocaine saga, Alfred Agbesi Woyome’s GHC 52.1 Million cedis judgement debt saga, etc.
The vagabond singer changed his Twitter name to “Ruby Mahama” which he used to express the link between Ruby Ametefe’s cocaine saga to President Mahama-led government’s involvement.
2. Shatta Wale vs. Charterhouse, Samini, and Iwan
The sensational Dancehall artiste’s most controversial Twitter rants didn’t focus on only Charterhouse, the main organisers of the annual Ghana Music Awards but also went to his colleague artistes like Samini, Kaakie and Iwan.
The Reggae/Dancehall artiste took a swipe at Charterhouse in 2013 on Twitter and Facebook when he was denied of award that he believed belongs to him. He further took it off Twitter to record a diss song against the Ghana Music Awards organisers.
Although, he won the “Artiste of the Year” award in the subsequent year but he rejected the plaque and took a swipe at them on Twitter again.
1. Sarkodie Vs. Charterhouse
And the ultimate controversial Twitter rant goes to the so-called ‘quiet and humble’ rapper, Sarkodie. It’s hardly to see the one time BET award winner tweet something rude but this time, he has to let the cat out of the bag.
Twitter was buzzing on Monday, April 6 when Sarkodie took a swipe at the event organisers for playing smart on him. It all started when the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards radio commercial that has aired on YFM announcing Sarkodie as one of the performing artistes on the night even though, they had not reached agreement for the performance.
Charterhouse later released a statement to apologise to the rapper and confirmed that he will not perform on the night.
