President Mahama donates 5,000 cedis to actor

Earlier this week, photos surfaced on the internet that showed colleague actors visiting, Waayosi at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital with his condition said to be ‘critical’.

According to entertainment website, abrantepa.com, the president made the donation through the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts and joins a long list of similar donations made by the first gentleman towards the welfare of entertainers.

The photos sought to quell inaccurate social media reports that the actor had died.

Other reports also say the actor is battling kidney diseases while others claim he has been placed under a curse which caused his stomach to bloat.

A number of fellow actors including Vivian Jill and Salinko have paid a visit to Wayoosi.

The 40 year old is well known for role as a child (because of his diminutive stature) in numerous Kumawood comedy films.

The film industry in Kumasi, where films are shot in the local Akan language, is informally called Kumawood.
